Stanica Nivy, opening Summer 2021 will be the largest shopping centre in Bratislava and one of the largest commercial projects constructed in Central European the second decade of the 21st Century. The new 30k m² international bus and coach terminal is located subterrainially below the new 70k m² shopping centre which will contain 300+ retail units.
There are 30k m² of offices in the new 125m high NIVY Office Tower which is the tallest building in Bratislava on completion. There is a 3k m² indoor Barcelona style city 'Fresh Market' on the upper levels with access to a new 12k m² landscaped roof which creates new elevated open space to the existing cityscape. There is a range of fresh market street food stalls, fast food units and restaurants. Parking for over 2100 cars is provided.
Peter played a major role in the project for the concept architect working closely with the client and execution architect (Siebert Talas) to deliver optimal design solutions and value engineering. Utilising vast experience and expertise he was able to work closely with the consultant team to ensure that the design elements from each discipline worked effectively both individually and collectively, for the benefit of the project as a whole.
By rationalising the design of the main structural building frame and how it integrated with the architectural design large cost savings were able to be introduced to the project whilst maintaining and improving design and functionality.
